Smoothies are often something that I have a craving for, many of my friends can attest that I’m always asking them to go get one with me. I especially love a good smoothie bowl, but these are usually on the pricer side. If I’m wanting to go get one I definitely head to The Purple Bowl but I often make them at home because they are so easy to make, and even the superfood ones are tasty! This superfood green smoothie bowl has an avocado, spinach, kale, banana, soymilk, açai puree, pineapple, ginger, and greek yogurt in it. I know it sounds like way too many healthy foods that cannot taste nice together, but trust me, it works. The key is to de-stem the kale to get rid of some of the bitterness and to taste the smoothie after blending it to see if it needs any maple syrup or honey in it. Don’t be scared of adding avocado either, it adds a nice creamy texture. I then pour my smoothie, making sure it’s thick enough, into a bowl, and top it off with granola, sliced banana, and honey. Smoothie bowls, in general, don’t have a particular recipe to follow, I tend to throw in whatever I need to use in the fridge, just test as you go, then you can’t go wrong!
